Jim’s Journal
Welcome to the first edition of our newsletter! I want to thank Travis and Wendy for their work on it. We believe that it will help to keep our church family informed about what the Lord is doing at Bower. In addition to our bulletin, video slides before our worship services, announcements and our website, we now have another way to get information to you.
There are a lot of events going on this month so be sure to check our calendar and the events listed. In just a few weeks we will be celebrating Thanksgiving. In thinking of it, I am reminded of all that we have to be thankful for as a church family. We are thankful for how the Lord is moving in our church family. We are thankful for the growth we have experienced this past year. We are thankful for the 10 new members that we have gained in this new church year! Isn't our God good! I look forward to seeing you around this week and in church Sunday!

Bake Sale with a Mission
November 13, 2009
Do you enjoy spending time with family and friends? Would you like to give to a mission that lets others know about Christ? If you answered yes to either one of these questions, the Bower Bake Sale is for you. At the Bower Bake Sale you will find the best cakes, pies, and candies in the county. For every dollar you spend on your favorite treat, a dollar will be given to go toward sending Bower’s youth on a mission trip, to help others and tell them about Christ.
Youth & Children Events
SENIOR SAINTS FELLOWSHIP & GAME NIGHT.
Friday - November 6th - 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
The Youth group - Youth 4 Him - will host the seniors for a night of food, fun, & lots of games!
GIRLFRIENDS IN GOD
Saturday - November 14 - 10:00 a.m. to Noon
An exciting new women's outreach ministry for "GIRLS" of all ages! Worship, Music, Fellowship, Door Prizes & Food!!!!!! Invite all your "girlfriends" especially those who need some time with just the girls!!!!!!! Please sign up at the church so we'll know how many to prepare activities for and how much food to prepare.

YOUTH Girls, their mothers and friends will be going to the Shoppes at East Chase in Montgomery, Alabama. FUN! FUN! FUN!
Special Needs VBS
On Saturday, October 24th, the Bower Youth Group, YOUTH 4 HIM, were given the opportunity to go and help with the Special Needs Vacation Bible School in Greenville, AL at Greenville First Baptist. This Vacation Bible School is designed for children, youth, and adults of all ages who have Special Needs such as autism, down syndrome or any other special challenge.
We had 8 members of our youth group attend and these members were changed forever! We went to serve and bless these special saints of God but we were the ones that were truly blessed! We can't wait to help again! In fact, our prayer is that the Lord will open the door for us to host one for Conecuh County here at our church!
